So I was really good for a while about telling you guys everything I thrifted in 2017. But I totally forgot to show you what I ended up getting the remaining part of 2017 and for the entire year of 2018!
I think it’s time to show you the rest of my 2017 year-end thrifted finds. How much I paid, and any information I might have found out about them. This, is one of my favorite parts of thrifting! The history of each piece.
August at Goodwill
- Orange tray $2.99
- Vintage glass holder $2.99
- Three English porcelain holders $1.99 each, $5.97 total
- Pink wooden box .99 cents
- Small vintage appetizer forks $1.99
- Panda mug .99 cents
I purchased the orange tray because I love orange. On the bottom it reads: CTO, Japan. Just a fun kitchy tray.
You might be asking yourself, why would Sara buy a vintage glass holder? Because I love drink sets and sometimes you find some and they don’t have a holder. So I thought ahead and bought a holder for those glasses.
Three English porcelain holders. Honestly, this was an odd buy for me, but the picker inside said, these look so clean and nice, plus they’re porcelain, so I should pick them up. The bottom reads: Pomona PortMeirion, The Goddess of Fruit, Made in England.
Pink wooden box. I picked this up for my daughter and we currently use it for hairbands and it’s awesome. The top swivels around to open and it looks handmade. The bottom says: WOOD-N-STUFF R-F-D 1, Box 418B Provo Utah 84601 801-225-0375
Small vintage appetizer forks. Hello, I’m here for anything related to a 60’s dinner party. I have got to throw a 60’s dinner party guys! It holds one dozen stainless steel little forks in four pastel colors: purple, pink, green and beige.
Panda mug. I was helping the sponsorship team at the L.A. County Fair and wanted a mug at work, so I bought this. It reminds me of my daughter since she loves pandas. There is a small imprint on the bottom that says USA.
September at Goodwill
- Wooden tray .99 cents
- Orange fondue pot. $3.99
Wooden tray. We needed a catch-all for our stuff and I thought this was perfect. A slot for mail, little pockets for keys and loose change. I like it. No markers on the bottom.
Orange fondue pot. I am still in love with this guy every time I see him. Firstly, it’s orange. Secondly, it’s another entertaining item. Sure, it’s missing its base so it just looks like an interesting tea pot, but I don’t care. He’s beautiful. On the bottom it’s: Copco, Micheal Lax Design, Holland.
October in Michigan Bookstore
- null
- The Real Book about Mountain Climbing $5
- Donald Duck’s Safety Book $5
The Real Book about Mountain Climbing, 1958. I liked the blue and green of the book, and the mountain in the bind. I purchased it for my son when he was still in my belly and now it lives in his room as decor.
Donald Duck’s Safety Book, a little golden book. Inside is a handwritten name, B. Zmich, 1954. It’s beat up and loved, and a little time capsule. Plus you can enter to win a trip to Disneyland on the back page! It’s really so cool.
November at Goodwill
- Flower picture with green velvet frame, $14
- Kids red Schwinn bike, $29.99
- Jerry West books, purchased three .99 cents each
- Mystery of the musical Umbrella book, .99 cents
Flower picture with green velvet frame. Isn’t it the best?!?! Listen, I know it might be too much for you, with the green velvet, but there was something about the colors that spoke to me. I don’t have flower stuff around my house, at all, but I just couldn’t resist this. It has the intials P.N. on the bottom left corner. And now it proudly hangs in my thrifted gallery wall.
Kids red Schwinn bike. No, it’s not vintage. We just happen to be in the market for a bike for my daughter and here this was. Perfect. She loves it and I’ll be keeping it for my son too. See, another example of something that’s practical and relatively new!
Jerry West books, purchased three. I purchased these for my son’s room. At the time he was in my belly but I knew what direction I was taking with his nursery so I grabbed them up. If you’re curious, here’s his nursery. I love the book covers and colors. Book titles are: The Happy Hollisters and the Haunted House Mystery, 1962. The Happy Hollisters on a River Trip, 1953. The Happy Hollisters at Sea Gull Beach, 1952.
Mystery of the Musical Umbrella book, 1962. Another one for my son’s room. I liked the green and blue cover on the book. On the inside cover there is a handwriting: Chris Riff given by Grandma Christmas 1963. Well isn’t that cute?!
Well guys, that wraps up my 2017 year-end thrifted finds. It was an awesome year for thrifted finds, and the year that solidified my obsession with thrifting.
