Being pregnant means so many, many things. Sickness, nervousness, happiness and yes, a free baby registry gift bag, or three. Whether you’re going to have a baby shower or not is entirely up to you, but I’d say register at several places to get all the free gift bags regardless! Every extra item that you can get or coupon helps, plus there are some great perks to the baby registries. So to help you figure out if those baby registry and baby registry gift bags are worth it, I complied a list of everything I received below from Amazon, Target and Babies r Us. I even include the gift bag I received from Motherhood Maternity after I bought a few items. Jut remember gift bags change frequently. Happy registering!
Amazon Baby Registry Gift Bag
Did you know Amazon did baby registries? Did you know they also give a welcome box to Prime members once $10 is spent from your registry and you complete your registry – which means checking all the boxes on their checklist off. Literally, just go check the boxes guys and it’ll be complete. Lastly, you’ll need to be an Amazon prime member. OK, it does seem like a lot of things to get a free welcome box but if you have Amazon prime then you’re already ahead. I’m not trying to sell you here on Amazon prime but you really should get it. Especially as a new or repeat Mom. Life is easier when you can buy something online and get it delivered. Oh yes, and Prime members get 15% off the remaining items on your registry.
You can also watch me unboxing my Amazon welcome box on my Facebook page.

Target Baby Registry Gift Bag
So to get the Target baby registry gift bag you need to register in store and hope they have gift bags ready for you. Ask first and if they don’t go to another Target! What’s great about the Target registry is you’ll get a 15% off coupon to be used on items from your registry, on one trip only. Make sure to register for everything prior to. Now when you get the coupon is confusing. It says that your registry needs to be active for 14 days before you can use the coupon but when I logged into my registry it says I’ll have the coupon in 41 days. Mixed messages. All I know is I’ll get it before the baby is born. My registry said it will email me the coupon, although four years ago I remember them mailing me.
Another great thing is your gift-givers, and yourself, get free shipping on orders over $25. Lastly, if you have to return anything that someone got from your registry you can easily return it without a receipt. Oh yes! One more thing. Get a Target card, it links directly to your checking account and is not a credit card. You’ll always receive 5% off your purchases, get free shipping when you purchase items online and extended times for returns. This is applicable to all Target items, not just you baby registry. Again, I have no stake here it’s just an awesome card.

Babies r Us Baby Registry Gift Bag
Now here’s what you get with a Babies R Us baby registry. An automatic 10% back on all your registry purchases once the total spend exceeds $300. Now that seems like a lot of money to spend, but it’s a baby we’re taking about. Register for a crib, rocking chair, stroller or car seat and then purchase it off your registry! You can make purchases off of your registry and it goes towards the total. I will say this would be a reason to just have a Babies r Us registry, so that everyone buys from here and you get cash back, 10-15% depending on the amount spent. An email will be sent to you with your earnings approximately 12 weeks after your baby’s expected arrival date.
You’ll also get 15% off everything on your registry once the baby shower is done. So that means register for everything you need before the shower so you can get a great discount on whatever else you need. It only counts for items on the registry before the event so add 20 packages of diapers, etc… then you can go buy them and get that cash back!
Here’s what I got in the Babies r Us baby registry gift bag:
- Pampers travel bag with: one diaper, six wipes and several coupons. Coupons: $5 off one pampers diaper box diapers, $1.50 off one pampers swaddlers diapers, $1 off one pampers wipes, $2 off Vicks VapoRub, $2 off Dreft detergent, $1 off Crest toothpaste
- Dreft in-wash scent booster sample
- Mam bottle and pacifier
- $10 off Babyganics essentials gift set coupon
- $20 toward Shutterfly
- $20 towards Tinyprints.com

Motherhood Maternity Gift Bag
I just needed some more clothes for my growing belly so I headed to Motherhood Maternity and got a little gift bag as well! That was easy.
Here’s what I got in the Motherhood Maternity gift bag:

My two cents? Go register, go get your free gifts and let people buy something that you need for your baby. If I’m being honest Babies r Us has the most perks but a lot of people who don’t have kids like to go on Amazon or Target to purchase stuff. I’m only speaking from my experience when I was single. Regardless, your baby is a celebration and a miracle. Congrats!
