This easy DIY Ramadan garland: Mubarak & stars, is in partnership with Amasi Decor. I think you’ll recognize the stars from another craft, the DIY Ramadan lampshade. That one uses the silver stars, but for this craft, we’ll use the gold and white ones. Don’t you just love it when you can make more than one DIY Ramadan decoration?
Speaking of more than one, when you pick up Amasi Decor’s gold stamped Mubarak party coasters, in a set of 12, you can make two garlands! This DIY Ramadan decor, and another garland using only the coasters.
In addition to the coasters, I’ve purchases chipboard stars from a craft store to round out the look of the DIY Ramadan garland.
For a walk-through of how to make this DIY Ramadan garland, check out the video here on my IGTV channel.
Let’s get started by gathering the supplies: Amasi Decor gold stamped Mubarak party coasters, chipboard stars from a craft store, string, scissors, tape and a single hole hand punch.
Lay out the pattern you’d like. I choose: coaster, white star, gold star, white star, gold star, coaster. You’ll need 5 Mubarak coasters, 8 white stars and 8 gold stars.
Now it’s time to punch a hole in everything. Line up the hole punch fairly close to the edge, about a centimeter or two away from the point of one star and punch. Repeat with all stars.
Do the same with all the the Mubarak coasters as well. For the Mubarak coasters I punched at the top, in between the b and the a.
Next up, tape one end of the string. You’ll want to do this so that the tape doesn’t fray and it fits nicely through the holes while threading.
You’ll need to about 48 inches of the string, but if you want to be safe, thread the stars and coasters onto the string while it’s on the roll, so you can cut what you need at the end.
Thread the coasters and stars on the string in the pattern: coaster, white star, gold star, white star, gold star, coaster. Making sure to thread on top of the hole, not under.
Hang the DIY Ramadan garland: Mubarak & stars, up by simply taping it to the wall! Here it is below with the Mubarak coaster garland.
Such a cute DIY Ramadan home decor garland that’s easy, affordable and looks great on your wall.
