Welcome to my blog, Girl Refurbished! I’ve gone and done it, followed through with my threats and made a blog. So why on God’s green earth did I do it? Well because stay-at-home moms have all the time in the world and I was like, ugh, I’m so bored. That’s sarcasm folks. It’ll happen a lot here. Truth-be-told I was losing my mind a bit and needed an outlet, a project, well hopefully a part time job. This isn’t just for me though. I’ve always liked to entertain. I grew up singing, acting and dancing from elementary through college. So maybe this is how I do all of that now with a kid. I want to entertain you, learn together, laugh, be inspired or perhaps escape from work for a while. I see you.
Here’s what to expect from my blog. Refurbishing furniture and decorating with a lot of vintage and antique pieces. Yummy recipes that I took time to unwillingly make for dinner. Celebrating seasons, particularly fall with unbridled enthusiasm, and life. Parenting wins and defeats, exploring and traveling and trying to keep a toddler entertained. I will be posting weekly – so stay tuned!
But back to refurbishing furniture. I want to take on as many projects as I can and really dig my heels into becoming better at refinishing, re-purposing, remodeling, updating, improving – whatever you want to call it. I’ll inevitably dragging my husband, Amir, into it as well. Lucky him. Who doesn’t love a good before and after too, right? I’d love for you to join me in making old furniture new again.
I’m also a huge seasonal person. Meaning I love each season and for specific reasons and tend to live my life seasonally, from decorating to what I’m eating. It all comes to a fever pitch when the world’s best season arrives – FALL. Oh just you wait till fall when I become the most basic, annoying, Fall Lady ever. Pumpkins, acorns, maple, leaves, apple picking and more!
Last, but certainly not least, we can’t forget that my life revolves around two little people – our daughter & son. There will be posts on successes, struggles, crafting and food recipes – though none of those recipes mine. I only cook because we need to eat, not out of love. Sorry family.
Again, welcome to Girl Refurbished and come back soon!
